A clear comparison of pressure, purpose and after-effects so you book the right treatment the first time.
Swedish massage uses long, gliding strokes at light to medium pressure. Its purpose is relaxation: calming the nervous system, easing surface stiffness and improving sleep quality.
Deep tissue massage uses slower, firmer strokes and sustained pressure to reach deeper muscle and fascia. Its purpose is corrective: releasing chronic knots, trigger points and pain patterns.
Book Swedish if you are stressed, sleeping poorly or new to massage. Book deep tissue if you have identifiable pain — a locked shoulder, a tight lower back, recurring neck strain.
Both are available at 60 and 90 minutes at Hoodi and Mahadevapura. If you are unsure, tell our therapist where it hurts and they will recommend the right one.
